Self Help Books
Do you read self help books?
Do you believe that they help you change your perspective about life?
Do you try to adopt the methods, that have been discussed by the author?
In 2021, I started my journey of reading self help books. Being an avid fiction reader, initially I found it difficult to navigate through non-fiction, wherein authors were honest and descriptive about their lived experiences.
(Kudos to them for sharing such enlightening life stories.)
Every line, every paragraph pushed me to think beyond my capabilities. I went through several waves of introspection and I gained a lot of insights about my own personal experiences. Over the past couple of years, I have read several self help books. They have broadened my perspective, and have furthermore, nudged me to grow and explore my potential.
What's my favourite self help book? It's hard to choose, but I think one of the easiest reads for me was "Good Vibes, Good Life", by Vex King. King beautifully simplifies self love, self care, manifestation, self exploration and growth.
Another underrated self help book which has been a personal favourite is, "The Body Keeps the Score", by Bessel Van Der Kolk. This book helps one understand the complexities of our bodies and minds. Personally, I found it a heavy read, but it helped me in comprehending how the two help each other coexist.
If you have a self help book recommendation, please let me know.
